Each year, the Plum Island Surfcasters run a carp fishing trip for their Junior members. This annual event gives Junior members an opportunity to improve their casting and fish fighting skills. A Junior member properly loading her rod for the first time is a sight to see!
This event is also a great way to introduce new lines, rigs and techniques. During this year’s trip, some Junior members transitioned from monofilament line to braided line and fished boilies from the United Kingdom on hair rigs.
The Plum Island Surfcasters Junior members who attended this trip are now confident and ready for the upcoming surf fishing trips on Plum Island and Hampton. OMG. Fish beware! 😉
